Question: A good program to create and convert PDF files
Answer: Abbyy PDF Transformer is one of the best programs to use whenever you need to convert, create, edit and save any type of PDF Documents. This software is able to retain the documents layout and structure eliminating the need for reformatting. This is a shareware software that comes in a trial version ( available for 15 days ) which has some limitations allowing you to convert up to 50 pages of documents.
Supports a lot of languages : English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Hungarian, Czech etc.
Supports a lot of formats : .DOC, .XLS, .RTF, .TXT, .HTML etc.

Limitations : Once you will buy the full version, you are limited only by your computer resources. Although this program doesn't require a lot of system resources. when handling very large documents you will need a large quantity of RAM memory. If you don't have enough RAM memory your computer can be temporary blocked. In this case I would suggest you to split the huge document ( that you want to convert in a PDF file ) in several small documents. That should help.
Good to know : If your document is available in RTF ( Rich Text Format ), the document can be opened in any office suite ( for example OpenOffice or Word Perfect ). This will allow you to save the conversion results to other formats supported by PDF Transformer like HTML or TXT. ( A good tip for those who don't have Microsoft Office installed and they use another office suite ).
