How do I install and create a free Graboid Video account

This article has been re-written and updated. The previous article was about an old version of Graboid Video 1.4 and it was written in 2008. This article is about Graboid Video Family version 2.3, written on January 23, 2012. Graboid was actually one software but they decided to split this program in two versions: Graboid Video Complete ( it contains access to adult content ) and Graboid Video Family, actually the” Complete” version is the same thing with “Family” version but the main difference is that it offers the same options and features except or without the adult content. However, regardless of what version you`re going to choose to install on your computer, this article is useful in both cases if what you want is to learn how to install and create a free Graboid Video account.

Many of us never heard about Graboid Video software, so we are going to make a short review. It is a software that allows you to watch movies, tv shows or any video content from your computer. It contains a huge database with over 150.000 movies, tv shows etc. It is perfect for those who missed their favourite tv show or movie because they can watch it anytime with Graboid. There are many more things to say about Graboid but the purpose of this article is to show people how to setup a free graboid account.

 

Step 1 - Installing Graboid Video  ( You may want to skip this step if you`re an experienced user )

Before doing anything we need to make sure that we have the latest version, if you use an older version or simply want to check if a new version is available, you can download Graboid Video before creating the free account.
After you have downloaded the software on your computer it`s time to start the installation.

Open GraboidVideoSetup executable file and a new window called ``Welcome to the Graboid Video 2.3 Setup Wizard`` ( at the time that this article was written, the current version of Graboid Video, version Family is 2.3 ) will open.

As you can see in the setup window, you`re being informed how to start watching videos:

Click on the ``Next`` button to start the installation of Graboid Video.

Here it comes, the regular License Agreement windows that can be found and almost any other software. Make sure that you read the terms of the agreement and if you agree click on ``I Agree``.

 

 

As you can see, you`re being informed that setup will install Graboid Video 2.3 in the following folder. In this example I am installing Graboid Video in Windows 7 and the default installation folder is ``C:Program Files (x86)Graboid``, for any reason if you want to change this location you can change it now, if you want to continue the installation with the default installation folder click on Install.
 
 

 

The setup wizard will start the installation and it will download some files, please wait as the speed of the installation process depends on the speed of your computer and your internet connection. After the installation process is finished, click on Finish and make sure that ``Run Graboid Video 2.3`` box is checked.

 

 

After the installation process ends, this window will appear asking you to login ( take a look at Already have an account? option located in the upper-right corner ) or to create a new account.

 

 

Step 2 - Creating a free Graboid Video account
 
 
 
Now we need to click on ``Create Account`` button, so that we can obtain our free Graboid account. Obviously, we need to complete all required fields. Make sure that you enter your First and Last name, your e-mail address, choose your username ( you can choose a username in these available formats, for example : johndoe or john2009 or john_doe - you are allowed to use letters, numbers and the underscore character ``_`` ) , a password for your account and sorry but in this version there is no coupon code option. If you are sure that you`ve completed all fields you can click on ``Create Account`` button.

 

Now it`s time to check your email provided at this sign up. As you can see, I received the following email from Graboid:

Subject: Graboid - Must Complete to Activate Account?

If you followed the instructions from this email, you should see a message like this in your browser ( see the picture below )

 

Back to Graboid Video application, make sure that you click on the ``Start`` button ( located on the right side right under this text: ``After verifying your email click the ``Start`` button to begin:

 

If you see anything similar with this picture ( look up in the right corner ) that says ``Remaining: 2000 MB`` you have successfully managed to login in to your free Graboid account.

The installation process, remains the same...however, I`ve noticed that when you sign up for a free Graboid Video account you have only 2000 MB to use for free instead of 4000 MB. Probably they`ve done this to discourage the people that were trying to create multiple Graboid Video accounts instead of paying for one of their plans but this is not the purpose of this article.
