This is a question that has many answers but not all of them are good. Let`s say that you need to download an old version for your program. You need to know that some websites has a well known reputation while others are newer. I am going to create a small list with the websites that offers free downloads for their old versions. Please note that this is a list based on my experience so I am going to list only those that I`ve been using and nothing bad happened ( no malware ).
A. DownloadOldVersion.com - This is my favourite website and that`s because it`s a different website on this niche. It doesn`t come with old antiviruses or antispyware programs and that`s really important as I consider it a bad thing to offer such applications to someone who doesn`t know that an old antivirus/antispyware is useless against new form of viruses. It`s also not a fully-loaded ads website and all links are working. I guess this is enough for a positive review.
B. OldVersion.com - The mother of old stuffs. It is well-known the fact that this is the first website that offered old versions since 2001. I like this website because it can be trusted as a reliable download source but let me tell you what I don`t like. I don`t like the `Security` category which lists as I said old security stuff and my personal opinion is that `it shouldn`t exist`. There are more things to say but let`s stick to what`s important: all software downloads are pretty fast and their programs are clean.
C. OldApps.com - The second website after OldVersion launched in 2005, it is known as the second large source of old programs and it`s quite impressive if we`re looking at their huge software archive. It also offers old versions for Mac. I don`t like that they currently have a `security` category which is a bad thing as I already said it. However, if we are going to ignore this everything is ok and this site can be trusted.
D. FileHippo.com - This website offers the latest versions but it also keeps a large collection of old software. I really appreciate this website for the quality, not quantity. Since 2004 this website has a good reputation so it must be mentioned here. Otherwise, what can I tell, the security category is here too but that`s everywhere excepting DownloadOldVersion.
Note: There are many other websites that will let you download old software versions but I am not going to list all of them here. Some of them were created with only one purpose in mind. To copy existing software from good and reputable websites such as those mentioned here in this article and to use them only for geting rich fast. They are full of ads and there is no reason to mention such a website here. Some of them spread viruses and some of them are not old enough to convince me.
